REOPENING THE TERRITORY
► All flights to the Territory are suspended until 31st October 2021, with the exception of repatriation and cargo flights, subject to authorization.
► All international travellers are advised to postpone their travel.
► The entry of ocean liners, fishing boats and leisure boats arriving from abroad into New Caledonian waters remains prohibited (except French government or military vessels).
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the capacity limits of quarantine hotels, regular international flights departing to and arriving in New Caledonia have been suspended (with the exception of repatriation and cargo flights, subject to authorization) as of March 20 at least through 31st October 2021.
Anyone with plans to travel to New Caledonia should contact their airline or travel agency.
We strongly recommend waiting for the official announcement of the date when the suspension will be lifted before re-booking air travel to New Caledonia on regularly scheduled commercial flights.
HEALTH STATUS AND HYGIENE MEASURES
New Caledonia goes into a strict two-week lockdown from 8 to 22 March 2021 extended until 1 April after nine Covid-19 cases were confirmed in the community. The lockdown is coupled with limited international passenger flights to and from Caledonia (essential reasons only), including compulsory quarantine on arrival. New Caledonia is acting fast to stop the spread of the virus.
