At this stage, as a reward for your time in getting to know and promoting the destination, this status gives you the opportunity to support an essential cause: the preservation of one of the planet’s main biodiversity hot spots.
After supporting the WWF SEVE project, on behalf of the Advanced Learners, New Caledonia Tourism is making a donation to the “Pandanus de Yvy” project in the Kaewatine tribe in Maré. This project has been rigorously selected by the biodiversity conservation association NaturAction NC as the “Coup de cœur 2023”. The aim of this community-based, participatory initiative is to develop the sustainable cultivation of the Pandanus plant and its processing into handicrafts (traditional mats, hut roofs, dance costumes, etc.), creating jobs and value, while strengthening intergenerational links within the tribe. It’s an environmental and cultural preservation project, based on the work of the tribal women, that really deserves your support!
